Your challenge this week is to practice your powers of observation. Take any person, place, or event, and write three paragraphs describing your subject in great detail.

Was it love at first sight? Was it just infatuation? He walked up the stairs of a three story apartment building, and she was walking down. When their eyes met, their hearts started beating fast. They felt an instant connection. She was attracted to his long eyelashes, big brown eyes, robust figure, and his round plump butt. He was attracted to her coca-cola bottle shaped figure, her lovely brown eyes, and her kind smile. They started to get to know each other, and after a week, they were in a “relationship.” The couple was in love no doubt, but after a month into the relationship, things went down hill.

The relationship started with love, laughter, and passion, but now the abuse began. He became controlling and filled with jealousy. One look or even just a small glance, and he would lose control of his temper. They got into a heated argument over the phone, while she was at work in her small office on top of the hill. When it reached 4:30pm he came to pick her up. She got into his grey 4-Runner with tinted windows and a bad boy sticker on the back windshield. Once they were on the road she started asking him questions. “What’s wrong with you?” “What did I do wrong?” “Why are you acting this way?” But all she got was silence; he was ignoring her. She couldn’t believe that the man she loved with all of her heart was mistreating her this way. After a long time of silence, he said, “Do you want to know why I am like this?” She didn’t say a word. She ignored him because he ignored her. This mad him furious. His heart beating rapidly, his temper reaching the highest point, and then… he snapped! All she saw was his big round fist coming straight to her soft and gentle face. She was in disbelief because this was the first time anyone has ever laid a hand on her. He then grabbed her hair, pulled it, and pushed her body to the passenger door of the car. Her skinny fragile body slamming against the tough door. Her heart began to shatter. It was broken into tiny pieces by the one person she never imagined would hurt her.

Her eyes were swollen and filled with tears by the time they got home. He started feeling guilty, and his eyes filled up with tears too. He parked his grey 4-Runner under a big tree right across their house. Hours had passed so fast and it was already 9:00pm; it was dark. He got out of the car and opened her door. He then stared into her watery eyes and cried to her, begging for forgiveness. He promised her that what he did would be the first and last time it would ever happen. He kept telling her over and over again, “I’m really sorry!” “Please forgive me!” “I love you so much, and I never want to lose you!” Off course this kindhearted, loving, and patient woman forgave him. She loved him very much despite the pain he put her through. Their relationship continued to go on for years. Let me ask you this, “Do you think the abuse ended?”
